ADVENTUROUS TRAINING

As well as various miltary activities we also off a variety of adventurous training activities. All of our activities are led by fully qualified instructors, all equipment is provided free of charge. Our aim is to offer a range of exciting and challenging activities in a safe and controlled environment.

For those cadets who want to advance their AT skills the Cadet Centre for Adventurous Training in North Wales run lots of courses from beginner through to advanced enabling cadets to gain a range of universally recognised qualifications.

Cadets currently have the opportunity to participate in the following activities:-

Archery

On annual camp cadets will be able to hone their arhcery skills as part of the AT package, with fully qualified instructors giving them the best hints and tips on how to get that bullseye!

Clay Pigeon Shooting

Also as part of the annual camp package all cadets can get to grips using shotguns in a safe controlled environment and practice clay pigeon shooting. cadets who show skill at this can also go on and represent the County at National Competition level.

Kayaking, Canoeing & Standup Paddleboarding

Spring through to Autumn cadets will have the opportunity to kayak, canoe and paddleboard in coastal waters around Guernsey and also in lakes on annual camp. For those wishing to progress with paddlesports we run the British Canoe Union star awards with cadets having the opportunity to take assessments up to 3 star.

Surfing

Through the summer we also run surfing sessions, introducing cadets to surfing and building confidence in the sea as well as water safety and awareness.

Climbing

Another popular cadet activity which is always available on cadet camp.
